The Celtic Room is a collective of people who love to play traditional Irish music. We meet for a session every week where we swap tunes and enjoying playing together. Most of us are amateurs who simply love to play music together.
Usually we meet for a session at The Wicked Parrot restaurant in Sanur, Bali at 4pm every Tuesday afternoon although sometimes we meet in other places. There is also a Celtic Room session in Jakarta every week.
The instruments usually used to play Irish music are the fiddle, tenor banjo, mandolin, whistle, flute, uilleann pipes (Irish bag pipes) button accordeon and concertina. For accompaniment we have members who play bodhran (a traditional Irish drum), cello and guitar.
Whether an experienced musician or only just starting out everyone is welcome to come and join us, you can find the tunes we play on this website and our fellow musicans will help you if you wish to learn.
If you have not yet bought and instrument you might like to come along and talk to us before you decide what sort of instrument would be most suitable for you.
